The Business Administration Diploma prepares you for a wide array of employment opportunities in the world of business. The diploma consists of a common first year to give you a strong base in general business skills and knowledge. In the second year, specialize in one of the following areas:
Accounting: This specialization focuses on giving you the accounting knowledge and skills you need to excel in the accounting profession.
Financial Services: This specialization gives you the skills required to assume a position at a bank or other financial institution.
Risk Management: Risk Management is a structured approach to managing uncertainty in business. Business uncertainty occurs due to threats that may emerge from the environment, technology, humans, organizations, or politics (under development for Fall 2010).
General: This will provide students with knowledge of the basic principles of business and the skills required to become a successful manager.

Completion of the brokered courses from RIMS (Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc) will provide graduates with the Canadian Risk Management designation (CRM).
Admission requirements
Academic Requirements
• Credit in English 30-1 or 30-2 or equivalentOR:
• Credit in Applied or Pure Math 30 or equivalent
• Successful completion of the General Equivalency Development test (GED) with a standard score of 520 in Language Arts: Reading and Writing and 520 in MathOR:
• Satisfactory results on the BVC Admissions Test
Additional Admission Requirements
• All applicants must be bondable.
English Language Proficiency Requirement
Applicants whose first language is NOT English must demonstrate ONE of the following:
• Achievement of a valid TOEFL score of 527 - 530 on the paper-based test or a score of 71 on the internet-based test (iBT)
• Achievement of a valid Academic IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with an overall band score of 5.5
• Complete the Bow Valley College EAP program with a grade of “B”
• Transcripts demonstrating successful completion of three years of full-time secondary education at a school where English was the language of instruction
• Transcripts demonstrating successful completion of one year of fulltime post-secondary education at a school where English was the language of instruction
• Where applicable, a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) standard as determined by the Career program
• Successful completion of an Alberta Education English Language Arts (ELA) course that is consistent with the specified academic admission requirements for the program
• Satisfactory results on the BVC Admissions test
Admission to Year 2 Specializations
• Accounting: A Minimum GPA of 2.67 with a minimum grade of B in ACCT 155 and ACCT 156
• Financial Services: A Minimum GPA of 2.67
• General: A Minimum GPA of 2.0
